War, Oligarchy & the Destruction of
Nature
This public lecture addresses ‘systemic corruption’ as the root cause of the republican failure to achieve peace. It traces the connection between oligarchy, war, and the undermining of republican liberty in Ancient Rome, Renaissance Florence, and contemporary United States, showing the emergence of a new tech- financial-military complex, and the total takeover of representative institutions by an ethnonationalist oligarchy.
